Brandi Pursley, LPC-MHSP

I was born and raised in East Tennessee and consider the South to be a really special place of resistance and resilience. I am a lover of trees, a cat person, an avid reader of queer romance, and a baseball fan. I am queer and neurodivergent, which informs a lot of how I operate as a therapist.

I have been working in the mental health field for over 10 years and have been a licensed counselor in Tennessee since 2024. I have worked in a lot of different settings, including inpatient facilities, community mental health, nonprofit agencies, and private practice. I have also spent time outside of the counseling field and found different ways to practice healing work, including through tarot and astrology readings.

My ideal clients are people from the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodivergent folks, and people with nontraditional relationship structures in their lives. I have a lot of experience working with people navigating trauma and grief.

As I work primarily with the queer community, many of my clients have a history of religious/spiritual trauma, or are working through deconstructing or reconstructing their faith. I approach counseling from a secular perspective, allowing my clients to dictate whether or not religion or spirituality is part of the therapeutic process. I am happy to meet you where you are in that journey.
